Blended Cottage Cheese Ranch Dressing with Real Mayo

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese, blended smooth (8 oz)
  • 1/4 cup tbsp real mayonnaise (watch ingredients and avoid soybean and canola oil if able, homemade is healthier)
  • 4 – 6 tbsp dry ranch seasoning powder
  • *Splash of Buttermilk, or Keifer or milk of choice (optional, for thinning)
  • *optional salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Blend the Cottage Cheese: The simplest method, is using an immersion blender right in the container it comes in. Other methods: using a blender or food processor, blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the Seasonings: Add the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, pepper, and lemon juice to the blender. Blend again until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. Adjust Consistency: If you want the dressing thinner, add a little more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach your preferred consistency.
  4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the dressing and adjust seasoning if necessary (add more salt, pepper, vinegar, or dill to your liking).
  5. Serve: Pair with fresh veggies like carrot sticks, celery, cucumber, or bell pepper slices. You can also use this as a chip dip or salad dressing.

Quick Homemade Dry Ranch Seasoning:

I think the packets remind me of my parent’s buttermilk ranch dressing, and it is comforting to me. However, I’m sure you are better than I am when it comes to health, so here is a quick throw together guide for homemade ranch powder: If you have a better homemade dry ranch mix, will you please share with all of us yummy healthy foodies, in the comments below.
